Who are EnSmart?

No hype below, just what the manufacturer publishes, with sources — and honest notes where a figure isn't published at all.

EnSmart Power is a power-electronics manufacturer headquartered in Braintree, Essex, specialising in energy storage systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and power protection. The company describes more than four decades of expertise in power electronics, with facilities in the UK, Turkey and China and equipment supplied to more than 50 countries; its published client list runs to industrial names like GE Oil & Gas and Aramco.

That background matters for a home buyer more than it first appears. UPS engineering is the discipline of keeping power flowing without interruption — batteries, inverters and switchover electronics built for environments where failure isn't tolerated. A domestic battery system is the same engineering problem at house scale. And a UK-headquartered manufacturer means UK-based support behind the warranty, rather than a badge-engineered import with no local presence.

SolarAll home energy storage

SolarAll is EnSmart's residential energy-storage range, and it's what the cabinets in our installation photo are. Two published parts make up the system.

SolarAll-H hybrid inverters

A hybrid inverter converts your solar panels' DC output into usable AC power and manages battery charging in a single unit. EnSmart publishes the single-phase SolarAll-H at 3–6 kW — the sizing bracket for typical UK homes — with a three-phase 10–20 kW series above it for larger properties. Headline published specifications for the single-phase range: maximum efficiency of 97.5%, silicon-carbide (SiC) switching technology, an IP65 rating for indoor or outdoor mounting, quiet operation below 25 dB(A), a built-in UPS function with a 10-millisecond switchover for backup-designed systems, support for up to 15 units in parallel, and dual independent battery ports.

ELV battery packs

The storage itself is modular: EnSmart's ELV lithium battery series pairs with the SolarAll-H inverters, with the range published from around 5 kWh to 40 kWh. The wall-mounted ELV-W packs come in 5.12 kWh and 10.24 kWh sizes, use lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells, are rated for more than 6,500 charge cycles with a 15-year design life, carry recognised battery-safety certifications (UL1973, IEC62619, UN38.3, UL9540A), and support Bluetooth app and cloud monitoring.

Two honest footnotes. "Design life" is an engineering figure, not a warranty — EnSmart’s product pages don’t publish standalone warranty periods for the SolarAll-H or ELV ranges, so the warranty terms for your installation are confirmed in writing with your quote. The SmartBee EV charger

The wall-mounted charger in our installation photo is EnSmart's home charging unit; the current published line is the SmartBee-M series.

The 7 kW single-phase model — the standard for UK homes — is published with: a Type 2 connection in socketed or tethered form (5 m cable on the tethered version), WiFi and Ethernet connectivity, RFID card access, an LCD status display, OCPP 1.6 protocol support, built-in AC 30 mA Type-A and DC 6 mA residual-current protection, an IP65 weatherproof rating, and a 2-year manufacturer warranty, as listed by its UK distributor. A 22 kW three-phase version exists for properties with a three-phase supply — genuinely few UK houses, as we explain honestly on the EV chargers page.

The practical reading: it's a smart charger built to the connectivity standards (OCPP, app scheduling) that off-peak EV tariffs rely on, sealed for outdoor mounting, with its protective devices built in.
